Discover Manihi

Manihi is an island located in the eastern Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia. It is known as the cradle of the Polynesian black pearl and is the site of the first pearl farm, founded some sixty years ago. Today there are numerous farms mainly scattered among the islands of the Tuamotu Archipelago due to the quality of its waters.

The main island of Manihi Atoll is Paeua, although there are many more smaller ones. Even though Polynesians in general are exceptionally nice people, Mahini is known for its very friendly inhabitants.

The following section provides all the important information about Mahini: pictures, what to see, what to do and a host of other things.

If you are staying on a motu, the only way to get from place to place is by boat. If your accommodation is on the main island, it will be easy to get around on foot or by bike.
