The locals laughingly claim that this is the best beach in Bora Bora, for the simple reason that it is the only one. Having said that, it is spectacular. White sand, turquoise water. A perfect example of the drastic changes in the color of the water typical of the island. There are even rays that approach the beach from time to time to have a look around.
It is a very quiet beach, mostly frequented by the people who live on the island. In spite of its appeal, it is not usually crowded. It was curious to see people spending a Sunday on the beach while you think “I wonder if they are aware of the fantastic urban beach they have?” An authentic paradise.
There are snack bars and restaurants throughout the Matira beach area if you feel like a drink. You can also buy snacks at a store and spend the whole time on the beach.
